Andrés is Regional Head of the firm's Latin American practice. He specialises in insurance and reinsurance, litigation and arbitration. He has represented and advised both the international and local market, including claims handling, coverage disputes, and high profile negotiations.

He has over 20 years’ experience advising clients across a wide range of business lines including  property, financial lines, cyber, product liability, environmental and political risk. Key clients for which Andrés usually works includes Munich Re, QBE, TMK, AXA XL, Liberty Mutual, Zurich, Bearkley, AIG, Hannover Re, Starr, Chubb, among others.

Andrés also lead the relationship with key clients in LatAm, developing regional services covering more than 17 countries, interacting with the Miami, London, Madrid and Paris hubs.

Relevant experience includes:

• Advising the main reinsurer in the largest fire related incident that affected the central-south regions of Chile, leading the strategy to face massive civil actions and conducting negotiation with more than 1,200 victims, including administrative authority, Public Prosecutor and civil claimants.  
• Advising an international reinsurer on an environmental claim as a result of oil spillage, leading the negotiations with P&I clubs of the vessel and the tugboat, as well as, with more than 1,500 fishermen affected who blocked the port facilities during more than 20 days.
• Leading the Incident Response Manager team for an international reinsurer, covering 8 LatAm jurisdictions for cyber-incidents.
• Advising Reinsurance International markets on political risk and terrorism as a result of Chilean unrest and rioting in 2019, as well as the indigenous conflict in south of Chile, including a large retail chain, car distributors, manufacturer companies, etc.
• Advising reinsurers in multijurisdictional accounts regarding different line of risks and losses in Argentina, Perú, Ecuador, Panamá, Guatemala, Paraguay, República Dominicana, Venezuela and Bolivia.
