  • Biography

    Hannah joined the clinical risk team at DAC Beachcroft LLP in 2007, having already built up a wealth of experience in defendant clinical negligence litigation and non-contentious health advice. Hannah completed her training contract with the in-house legal team for the NHS in Wales, where she dealt with a range of work including clinical negligence claims, inquests, mental health advice, emergency treatment orders and general advice queries.

    Post qualification, Hannah has focused on defendant clinical negligence, on behalf of NHS Resolution, developing expertise in a number of aspects of this work. She has handled a large number of catastrophic birth injury claims and has advised on a range of complex issues in relation to these.

    Hannah is regarded as a leader the field of in hospital acquired infection (HAI) and MRSA acquisition claims having handled a large number of these cases on behalf of NHS Resolution. She has successfully defended a claim for negligent acquisition of MRSA and a breach of the COSHH Regulations at Trial (Billington v South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 2015).

    She also handles med-mal work for a large private insurer, defending claims against chiropractors and osteopaths.

    Hannah is a keen advocate and has her Higher Rights of Audience. She lectures at medico-legal seminars and conferences and has presented training to several Trusts and external bodies about HAI, clinical negligence claims and risk management.
