Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn Bishop CBE as a Non-Executive Director to the firm’s ten-member LLP Group Board.  Kathryn replaces Jenny Hill, who is retiring after serving on the Board for the past six years.

Kathryn has a diverse background, having led transformation programmes across the public and private sectors in director, project manager and consultant roles. She is also a longstanding Associate Fellow at the Saïd Business School at Oxford University, designing and delivering leadership programmes for professional services firms and multi-national corporations.

Most recently, Kathryn was Chairman of the Welsh Revenue Authority and she served as a Civil Service Commissioner from 2012 to 2017, regulating all appointments to the Civil Service and promoting and monitoring the application of the Civil Service Code. She has also held numerous non-executive directorships within Government, including at the UK Border Agency, Welsh Assembly Government, and The UK Intellectual Property Office.

Commenting on Kathryn’s appointment, DACB’s Senior Partner, Virginia Clegg, said, “With over 35 years’ experience working with organisations undergoing major change and advising those leading on change, Kathryn will be an invaluable asset to our Board.

“At DACB we have a long and positive association with Kathryn through her position as an Associate Fellow of Saïd Business School. She has a great regard for our firm and has been involved in many of our strategic discussions over the last 15 years. I’m confident she will bring a great deal to our Board discussions.

“I want to thank Jenny Hill for her many contributions to the Board over the years. Her advice and guidance, particularly around culture and change, have helped us successfully define and develop our purpose and values as a business and navigate the upheaval of the pandemic. We are grateful for her support.”

DAC Beachcroft's LLP Group Board is the firm's senior governing body and is responsible for the governance and leadership of the Group, as well as developing and adopting strategy. Led by Senior Partner Virginia Clegg, its other members include Managing Partner David Pollitt and Chief Financial Officer Claire Chellam, plus five elected members from the LLP Member group and two non-executive Board members. The other current Board members are Dublin Location Head Lisa Broderick, Marcus Campbell, Ben Daniels, Khurram Shamsee and Ruth Winterbottom, and Non-Executive Director Ian Starkey.
