With one of the biggest national teams of any law firm, DACB has over 25 specialist lawyers who advise clients on Safety, Health and Environment matters. The team advises on investigations by regulators such as the Police, Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, CQC and Local Authorities. They have also been instructed on high profile investigations and cases involving a range of health and safety, fire and other regulatory breaches.
In Newcastle, a core team of three SHE lawyers, led by partner Emma Bowens, advises clients across the North East, along with more than 100 multi-disciplinary lawyers based in DACB’s Wellbar Central offices.
Emma Bowens said, “We support our clients through some of the most difficult times in their working lives. Often there is emotional trauma following the death of an employee or member of the public, the risk of financial ruin, or a reputation destroyed that has taken a lifetime to build. Our clients need us to be highly responsive and clear in our advice, but they also need us to be sensitive and to provide support, given the pressure they are under. We work hard to get this right, and we are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with this award.”
David Weatherburn, DACB’s Newcastle Location Head, added, “Emma and her team offer something unique in the North East and they have been very successful in attracting new clients, both for SHE and our other services. The SHE team ensures our clients get a customised service delivered with the greatest care at what can be one of the most stressful times for their businesses. This win is evidence of the strength of this bespoke offering both regionally and nationally.”
The Northern Law Awards celebrate the great wealth of legal talent and success within the North of England. The awards ceremony took place in Newcastle on 23 June 2022.
