Overview

The Home Office has announced an increase in the application fees for future visa applications for recruiting workers into the UK.

 

The facts

The relevant application fees affected are as follows:

For example, a skilled worker application out of country for 3 years would now cost £5,830 (£719 application fee, £239 CoS assigning fee, £3,000 Immigration Skill Surcharge, £1,872 Immigration Health Surcharge) compared to the previous £5,696.

For example, switching from a graduate visa for a 3-year Skilled Worker visa would now cost £5,938 (£827 application fee, £239 CoS assigning fee, £3000 Immigration Skill Surcharge, £1,872 Immigration Health Surcharge) compared to the previous £5,790.

 

What does this mean for employers?

The increase is effective from 4 October 2023.

Employers should also note that the Immigration Health Surcharge (currently £624 per year) will be significantly increased in early 2024. As yet, there is no date for the increase.
