Biography
Louise specialises in advising London market and domestic insurers in relation to policy coverage and coverage disputes. She frequently advises insurers in relation to drafting policy wordings.
Louise also advises across classes of insurance and has acted in disputes relating to management liability, professional indemnity, cyber, aviation, W&I, construction, property, and commercial policies. She has acted for insurers in policy disputes in the Irish and English High Courts and at arbitration.
Louise also has extensive experience in defending claims against company directors and professional negligence claims against various professionals including architects, engineers, surveyors, solicitors, accountants, insurance brokers, and financial advisers both Ireland and in the UK. She also acts for underwriters in a wide range of construction-related risks.
In addition to representing clients in High Court proceedings, Louise regularly advises clients in complex alternative dispute resolution.
Relevant experience:
- Defending insurers at arbitration in relation to declinature under D&O Policy
- Defending an international firm of solicitors in relation to allegations of negligence in Ireland and the UK
- Defending a firm of engineers in Irish Commercial Court in relation to numerous sets of professional negligence proceedings
- Representing underwriters in a subrogated claim valued at €7m, arising from fire damage to industrial property
- Defending a firm of architects at mediation of €13m High Court multi-party professional negligence proceedings
- Acting as coverage counsel in relation to a high-value professional negligence claim against firm of accountants
