Julian specialises in insurance and reinsurance coverage (including wordings), professional lines (including financial institutions, solicitors, accountants, tax professionals, and pensions trustees), legacy management and cyber insurance. Much of his practice has an international focus.

Julian handles complex, high value litigation with a focus on coverage and professional lines. He also leads the firm’s service lines for policy wordings and treaty reinsurance. He has drafted numerous wordings, particularly cyber policies and reinsurance contracts, including life business.

Relevant recent experience includes:

• Successfully defending a number of law firms facing claims far exceeding their insurance policy protection.
• Defending numerous accountants and IFAs in relation to tax mitigation schemes.
• Defending pensions trustees and solicitors advising on pensions.
• Extensive experience of reinsurance disputes.
• Drafting policies across multiple classes, including wholly new cyber products.
• Extensive experience of K&R, including cyber extortion.
