Our extensive marine law capabilities includes hull and machinery, freight, cargo, and project cargo/DSU, as well as builders' risk, charterers' and ship repairers’ liability, and related war and strikes, terrorism, and political risk cover.
Our marine lawyers have extensive experience from bulk carriers to yachts, and across the full range of claim scenarios from towage loss to piracy, seizure, grounding and unseaworthiness to breach of survey warranty. We have particular experience in project cargo and related DSU claims, and in carriers’ and forwarders’ liability.
Where fraud is identified in marine claims, our lawyers will work together to combine their expertise to provide the best litigation strategy and deliver successful outcomes.

- Acting for insurers in defence of a major cargo policy claim arising from damage to various cargoes of fruit shipped from the Philippines to China. Evidential disputes as to cargo damage and alleged political rejection.
- Acting on behalf of NVOCC interests following loss of the vessel MOL Comfort.
- Advising marine insurers and reinsurers in relation to a constructive total loss under a hull and machinery policy arising from the grounding of a ship in French territorial waters in the Caribbean. Litigation corresponding to three jurisdictions successfully concluded.
