Our roles

Legal and Solicitor

As an experienced Paralegal, Chartered Legal Executive or a Solicitor you’ll be supported and trained to look after your own caseload – always focusing on delivering a quality, efficient service to our clients. Unlike many firms you’ll have access to clients from a very early stage in your career, enabling you to develop your client relationship skills.

An opportunity to manage your own caseload and develop a knowledge of legal issues across a variety of areas. You can expect to review new cases, draft correspondence, support fellow lawyers and provide a high level of client service. We’ll need you to maintain contact with the client throughout the process, report on progress and take further instructions. It means you’ll have an important role to play in developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

Senior Lawyers

We have many roles for people who have significant legal experience. Handle your own caseload or work with the team on higher value, more complex work. There are also opportunities to take on supervisory and management responsibilities in addition. In fact your remit could cover anything from new product development through to strategic thought leadership.

Our senior lawyers are individuals who show the potential to take on an increased level of responsibility. There’s no set requirement in terms of PQE – it’s your aptitude that counts here. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in client matters, account management and managing our strategic approach. You should be someone with plenty of initiative who enjoys working with minimum supervision. Just as importantly, you’ll be an independent thinker who can generate commercial solutions for complex client challenges.

You will provide high level, technical advice to clients and colleagues alike as a recognised subject matter expert. You can expect to deliver the quality client service – service that is fully aligned to our business strategy and goals. You’re going to be involved in everything from identifying and developing new client-led products and services through to sharing key trends with the team and leading on highly technical issues in sensitive and complex environments.

Partners

At the forefront of some of the most interesting deals, the most complex litigation and the latest technological innovations, our partners take responsibility for everything from winning new business through to providing firm-wide leadership and overseeing the delivery of exceptional client service.

As you’d expect, your role will involve leading the team, handling or supervising higher profile matters and contributing to the overall commercial success of the firm. You will create innovative new offerings and deliver client pitches. We also recruit partners who can bring new clients or specialist skills. Our bespoke leadership development programme is a two-year development approach, designed to support talented colleagues who demonstrate a strong business case and desire to progress to Partner. Partners benefit from a range of skills development options as well as access to mentors and coaches.

The level of value-added work for clients is impressive and the firm gives the Partners autonomy to focus on this and spend time with clients to nurture the relationship. The focus is not just about fee earning but how Partners can get the best out of their teams.

No matter where you are in the UK, we provide the same exceptional standard of work for our clients. We have a proven model for our Partners that ensures excellence across our offices, whether they’re in big cities like London and Manchester, or smaller towns across the country.

Life in legal

Our overarching objective is to ensure that we put clients and our colleagues at the heart of our business. We give everyone the right tools, support and best practice guidance they need to be able to engage successfully with our clients and grow profitable revenue. We bring together national and international teams by client or by service line so that we can provide the right mix of skills and experience for each engagement.

Reconnect

Are you an experienced professional who has taken a long career break? Are you ready to get back to work? Our career returners programme 'Reconnect' is our approach to supporting those who are looking to come back to work after an extended break. The programme is aimed at lawyers who have taken time away from the law, and who are now considering a return to a career in private practice. Returners have access to a range of support including our Returner Programme Employer Toolkit and virtual coaching. With maximum flexibility to organise your working week, colleagues are able to flex their hours across their day. We trust our colleagues to find their own balance and we want them to have the flexibility to design a life that works for them.

If you’ve been spending time with family, been travelling, or have taken an extended break for any other reason and would like to return to a career in law, then we’d like to hear from you.
