Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce that its newly formed New York office continues to grow with the addition of another widely respected insurance coverage team.

Partner J. Gregory Lahr and lawyers Jacinda Chen and Vitaly Vilenchik will work alongside partners Lawrence Klein, Gilbert Lee, George Vogrin and Mike Frimet, all of whom joined DACB in January 2025.

Greg is a highly experienced complex commercial litigation lawyer, primarily representing US, UK and Bermuda insurers on coverage matters involving general liability, financial lines, professional liability, product recall, and employment practices claims. He and his team represent clients in state and federal courts, on appeal and before arbitration panels. They join from Hinshaw & Culbertson; Greg was previously a partner at Robinson+Cole and spent well over a decade at Sedgwick LLP.

Gustavo Blanco, Head of International Business at DACB, said, "We have hit the ground running in the US this year, and have no plans to let up in this key market. By seeking out the best talent around the world to meet the needs of our clients, we are continuing to build our reputation as the adviser of choice for the global insurance industry."

"The response we have had from clients since our US launch at the start of the year has been phenomenal and we are grateful for their support," said Larry Klein. "Greg is well-known in the insurance market with a proven track record. Having worked with Greg for most of his career, I couldn’t be happier that he and his team have joined us as we continue to add strength and depth that will benefit our clients."

Greg added, "I have been thoroughly impressed by DAC Beachcroft's ambitions for growth and by the team it has brought together here in the US. The firm has demonstrated that it will provide a great platform from which to support my clients, as well as those we share, providing them with the legal expertise and international reach so many of them value."

Over the last year, DACB has opened four offices around the world, launching in New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Lima to expand its global offering to clients across the areas of insurance, shipping, international trade, and commodities.

DAC Beachcroft has one of the largest insurance practices of any law firm in the UK, operating from eleven UK locations, as well as internationally from offices in the US, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Peru and, together with BLD, Germany.
