  • Biography

    Brian joined DAC Beachcroft Dublin in 2017 having worked in a specialist public and regulatory law firm and, prior to that, in the litigation department of one of Dublin's largest law firms. 

    As co-lead of the regulatory team, Brian manages our fitness to practise complaints investigation work with a major healthcare regulator as well as defending complaints brought against other professionals. He advises regulators and statutory bodies on all aspects of their operations, such as issues relating to statutory interpretation, governance, audits, and reviews of statutory processes and procedures. He also prepares and delivers training for those exercising statutory functions and devises procedures to be followed. 

    He has experience of acting for a wide variety of statutory and public bodies in numerous judicial reviews, appeals on a point of law, statutory appeals and other applications before the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court.  

    Brian also leads our property regulation team based on his previous experience of advising and representing the Residential Tenancies Board. He currently advises landlords and their agents on operating within the complex regulatory framework of the residential tenancies sector and represents them in disputes before adjudicators and the Tribunal of the RTB.
