Biography
Charlotte is a Senior Associate in the Healthcare Regulatory and Public Law team. She advises a range of clients including NHS Trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Medical Defence Organisations, Independent Sector clients, NHS Resolution and NHS England on a number of healthcare regulatory and public law issues, both contentious and non contentious, including:
- Commissioning disputes relating to funding decisions, commissioning responsibility and continuing healthcare
- Judicial reviews, in the context of service reconfiguration and also individual patient level commissioning decisions
- Safeguarding and risk
- Complaints and Serious Incident reviews
- Advice on the Mental Capacity Act, mental health and deprivation of liberty/LPS
- Court of protection best interests and serious medical treatment cases.
She has also advised on data protection issues, CQC related matters, clinical trial regulations the Infected Blood Inquiry and she also represents clients at inquests. She is assisted by her background in clinical negligence and GMC regulatory work.
Charlotte has successfully acted for clients in a number of high profile cases at the Court of Appeal, which include serious medical treatment and service reconfiguration judicial review cases:
