About Corrinne

Bio
  • Biography

Corrinne specialises in Employers Liability and Public Liability accident and industrial disease work and Safety Health & Environment (SHE) regulatory advice.

She has over 20 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including logistics, public sector and manufacturing. Her key clients include BAE Systems PLC and NHS Resolution.

Corrinne’s experience enables her to offer clients a “cradle to grave” service – advising on prevention of claims, early intervention when a claim is made and dealing with a claim to conclusion in a proactive and cost effective way. She frequently gives feedback on lessons to be learnt from claims and provides regular training to clients on all aspects of personal injury and SHE law.

She appreciates the importance to clients of accurate Management Information and is an expert in using that to analyse trends. She also understands that achieving a good result for the client is coupled with keeping a close eye on indemnity spend and “choosing the right cases” to defend. On the industrial injury side she specialises in the defence of asbestos related and stress claims.

    Relevant experience includes advising:

    • Two major insurers in the defence of a claim for lung cancer allegedly caused by asbestos exposure in which the living Claimant claimed £2.6 million in damages. Corrinne disputed both breach of duty and quantum, eventually settling the claim at £1 million.
    • A multi-national corporate client on one of the first formal Immunotherapy Agreements relating to future treatment for a Claimant suffering from mesothelioma. This included putting in place a facility for the client to pay the private clinic directly to avoid any delay in treatment.
    • A public sector organisation on tactics on a public liability claim. Which resulted in the Claimant’s Schedule of Special Damages being reduced from an initial figure of nearly £600,000 to just over £15,000 on the final Schedule. This involved obtaining supportive medical evidence and reviewing large volumes of medical records.

Corrinne is recognised in the Legal 500 as having a particular strength in dealing with complex asbestos cases.
