Biography
Nora Fredstie is an International Arbitration Partner in the Commercial Litigation and Disputes group in the firm’s London office. She is a specialist in international investment arbitration, international commercial arbitration, and public international law. Nora further has a deep understanding of the Nordic region, is a Norwegian delegate to the ICC Commission, and the Chair of the Young Arbitration Practitioners Norway (YAPN).
Nora acts for clients across varied sectors, including oil and gas, life science, renewable energy, construction, investment, financial, and automotive. She manages cases seated around the world, and predominantly in North and South America, Asia, and Europe. Nora have acted in international arbitrations conducted under the ICC, ICSID, LCIA, SCC, SIAC, CRCICA, and UNCITRAL arbitration rules. Nora also sits as arbitrator.
Nora further takes part in international arbitration groups and projects. She assisted the IBA Arbitration Guidelines and Rules Subcommittee, was a steering member of the IBA Arb40 Subcommittee, is a delegate to the ICC Commission, the Chair of YAPN, and an ICC YAAF Representative for Europe & Central Asia. Nora is often invited to speak at conferences on a broad selection of international arbitration topics and teach international dispute settlement at various universities in Europe. Nora has been ranked by Who’s Who Legal since 2020. For 2025, Nora was ranked Tier 1 by Lexology (formerly WWL) as part of the Global Elite Thought Leaders List for international arbitration.
Nora is an Attorney and Counselor at Law in the State of New York, and a Solicitor in England & Wales. She was previously registered with the Paris bar and admitted to the roll of the Irish law society. She has experience working around the world including in Norway, Australia, The Netherlands, Chile, France, and the United Kingdom.

- Represented a contractor consortium in a US$1.5 billion SIAC arbitration relating to the construction of an oil and petrochemical refinery in South East Asia.
