    Sarah specialises in employment law.

She has over 16 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including health, local government, telecommunications, retail and manufacturing. Her key clients include national telecommunications plcs, household name retailers, a Local Authority, a Special Health Authority and a number of NHS foundation trusts.

Sarah specialises in advising on strategic employment matters such as board level disputes and the implications of TUPE in the context of service reconfiguration, mergers and organisational change. Her contentious experience is as the lead adviser in high-profile and high-value employment claims, specialising in complex cases some of which have involved proceedings in the Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal, and injunction applications in the High Court.

    Relevant experience includes:

    • Advising a household name PLC in the telecoms sector on the proposed departure of a very senior executive to a major competitor. Including legal advice on the application and enforceability of garden leave and post-termination restrictive covenants to limit the threat to the business interest, and suggesting practical alternatives to minimise that risk, including retention of the executive.
    • Advising the Chief Executive of a public sector commissioning body on the exit of a senior contracting executive. For omitting to disclose a potential conflict of interest in a contract procurement, which had implications for the public sector body’s reputation with its clients.
    • Advising a public sector organisation on the handling of a board level dispute during a period of scrutiny of the organisation by its regulators.
    • Acting for a NHS foundation trust in the successful defence of a complex whistleblowing claim regarding issues of health and safety critical to the organisations reputation. Where the large volume of evidence and a lengthy hearing was out of all proportion to the financial value of the claim.

Sarah is recognised by the Legal 500 as “’a thorough, rigorous and impassioned solicitor’ and is ‘recommended for TUPE transactions and employment litigation.”.
