  • Biography

    On the non-contentious side, Udara has advised on numerous transactions in both the private and public (predominantly health) sector. This has included acting in business sales/acquisitions and outsourcing arrangements. He has led on the employment aspects of a public sector outsourcing transaction estimated to be worth £1 billion.

    In addition to advising on the usual due diligence exercise and negotiating appropriate contractual arrangements, Udara has also supported clients in difficult TUPE and re-structuring consultations to ensure this has been done in a sensitive and legally compliant way.

    On the contentious side, Udara has worked on cases at ET, EAT, High Court and Court of Appeal levels. In recent times, he has advised employers on a number of high profile and sensitive internal situations that have made the front pages of the press. Udara has particular expertise in the healthcare and financial services sectors.

    In the international sphere, Udara has advised clients on the foreign labour law implications of setting up and running businesses abroad, as well as the complications of managing employees based overseas. Udara's experience covers Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, and a recent example of his project work was advising a multinational technology company on the establishment of offices across 15 different jurisdictions.

    Udara also lectures and provides training in a wide range of settings on practical employment issues.
