Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft is delighted to announce the appointment of healthcare litigation partner Gillian Muir.

Gillian, a senior healthcare expert with more than 25 years' experience in managing complex clinical negligence claims, arrives at DACB from Hempsons, where she was a partner and joint lead for the firm's Newcastle health litigation team.

Gillian represents a wide range of healthcare organisations, clinicians and medical professionals across North East England. This includes supporting NHS trusts in undertaking investigations and advising on all aspects of litigation, including high-value brain injury cases.

Hamza Drabu, partner and Head of Health at DACB, comments, "Gillian is a highly knowledgeable clinical negligence lawyer with a stellar reputation thanks to the strong relationships she has built with key trusts in the North East and her proven ability to nurture and build talent.

"Her experience and skillset adds further strength to our northern team as we continue to invest in the growth of our business to ensure we remain at the forefront of the market, providing innovative and practical solutions to our clients' novel and complex legal issues."

Gillian adds, "This is an exciting time to be joining DACB, a firm which has a fantastic reputation across the health and social care sector, as well as a long and proud record of supporting NHS organisations and their patients.

"I'm very much looking forward to working with DACB's talented and high-performing team of health lawyers on a range of healthcare litigation matters, and providing legal advice which enables our clients to continue delivering improved patient outcomes."

Gillian becomes the latest partner to join DACB's market-leading health and social care practice, with her appointment following that of health real estate specialists Victoria Armstrong and Lisa Geary in September and healthcare regulatory expert Susan Trigg in October.

DACB is widely recognised as the leading strategic, commercial and regulatory legal advisor to the health and social care sector, providing innovative and practical support to more than 300 public sector and independent healthcare clients.
