Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has today launched its latest edition of Health Adviser magazine, on the theme of ‘NextGen Health: Tomorrow’s Care, Today’s Innovations'.

This issue of the magazine provides insight from DACB’s health experts in collaboration with senior health leaders from the NHS, independent healthcare providers and companies at the forefront of Medtech and digital health.

Together they examine the long-term vision the health and social care sector is striving to make a reality and the challenges that block the way, within six key topics:

  • Reinvigorating a system under strain
  • Leading in tough times
  • Social care across generations
  • Crunch time for healthcare real estate
  • The health tech scaling challenge
  • Mental health demand continues to soar

The magazine also includes a special profile feature with Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, Senior Strategy Adviser to the University of Nottingham School of Medicine, best known for his role as Deputy Chief Medical Officer during the COVID-19 pandemic. The feature delves into his personal learnings and career highlights to date, and shares his thoughts on the future of health and social care.

DACB’s Head of Health, Hamza Drabu, says, “Healthcare reporting within the mainstream media is largely preoccupied by negativity, but a spirit of innovation pervades the sector. The actions being taken today will provide the springboard to tomorrow’s care models, and day-to-day challenges must not be allowed to deter from delivering longer-term, longer-lasting change.

"By joining forces with important voices from across the sector, we have addressed the challenges that health leaders must overcome to create a NextGen health system that is built on collaboration and innovation, and provides constant progress towards a better future."
