International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce that insurance litigation heavy-weights, Ian Plumley and Jon Ogle, have joined as partners in its Global Insurance practice in London.
Ian moves from Clyde & Co where he was a partner in its property, liability and cyber team for over ten years. Acting for insurer and reinsurer clients in Lloyd’s, the London market, US, Europe and Bermuda, he has extensive experience of advising on large-scale policy coverage disputes arising from international casualty and complex property claims. He is also an expert on ‘Bermuda Form’ insurance cover. Most recently, he has been heavily involved in advising on business interruption claims resulting from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Jon Ogle joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was a partner and jointly led its EMEA Insurance and Reinsurance Disputes Market Group. He represents London market and overseas insurers and reinsurers on complex, multi-jurisdictional insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes across a variety of claims lines, including complex property and business interruption, financial, civil liability and employers’ liability. Recent case successes have included advising on the leading reinsurance test case for the allocation of mesothelioma (asbestos) losses which settled shortly before a Supreme Court hearing.
Liam O’Connell, Head of the Global London team at DAC Beachcroft, said, “Ian and Jon are hugely experienced insurance litigators and very well regarded in the London and international insurance markets. We’re delighted to welcome them to DACB.
“Both are pivotal appointments for us, as we continue to strengthen key service lines in our international insurance practice and build on our position as the global insurance industry’s legal advisor of choice.”
