For the second consecutive year, DACB won the Outstanding Training Innovation Award. This year’s accolade went to the Intelligence Training School, which aims to enhance and hone the skills of intelligence professionals. Unique to the insurance industry, the training programme equips insurers’ in-house counter-fraud teams with the counter-fraud skills and technical knowledge to spot, investigate, track and analyse fraudsters’ latest tactics and behaviours.
The awards judges said the Intelligence Training School “pushed the boundaries of the training that law firms have historically delivered to clients”. The programme also won The Training Award at the Insurance Post Claims & Fraud Awards in October 2021.
Craig Dickson, CEO of DACB’s Claims Solutions Group, said, “The Intelligence Training School is a great example of how we think creatively and collaborate with our clients. The training has produced impressive results for our insurer clients and is helping them stay on top of the rapidly emerging issues related to insurance fraud.”
The Leading PR & Communications Innovation Award recognised Noisy Innovation, an internal communications campaign which equipped the firm’s colleagues with the tools and stories to talk confidently about innovation at DACB. The judges said the “unabashedly confident” campaign “deliberately shook up the law firm norm”. Noisy Innovation was also recently recognised at the Modern Law Awards where it was Highly Commended in the Marketing and Communications Strategy of the Year category.
David Pollitt, DAC Beachcroft’s Managing Partner, said, “We deliver the bespoke solutions that help our clients succeed. We do this by being innovative and creative, and these awards demonstrate that this approach is embedded in all we do – from our client-focused training to our own internal communications and beyond. We’re very proud to have built a culture that enables innovation to thrive and to be recognised for it twice over is outstanding.”
DACB was also shortlisted in four other categories of the Legal Innovation Awards. AIDan, its intelligent claims triage tool, was nominated for the AI (Artificial Intelligence) Award; insurance sector mentoring programme Mentoring the Market was shortlisted for the Client Management Innovation Award; ‘What If?’, a 360-degree immersive experience showcasing innovation at DACB, was a finalist for the Outstanding Marketing Innovation Award; and partner Pete Allchorne, Head of DACB’s Innovations Lab, was up for the Innovation Trailblazer Award.
The Legal Innovation Awards took place on 29 April 2022 in London.
