International law firm DAC Beachcroft has risen up the rankings in The Legal 500’s Europe, Middle East & Asia 2021 edition, with ten rankings – including two new ones – for its teams in Spain and the Republic of Ireland.

In Spain, DACB secured new recognition for its Dispute Resolution practice, following the hire of arbitration and litigation partner Mercedes Romero in July 2020 and the continued investment in the practice in recent months.

The firm’s Spanish Insurance practice was promoted from Band 3 to Band 2, reflective of firm’s strategic enhancement of its offering in Madrid, which has included welcoming a specialised team of professional liability and insurance lawyers, focused on the healthcare segment of the insurance market from Asjusa in early 2020, and high-profile hires such as that of leading insurance litigator Pablo Guillen earlier this month. DACB’s Madrid Location Head, José María Álvarez-Cienfuegos, was also acknowledged as a Leading Individual in the guide.

In Ireland, DACB’s Dublin office achieved a new ranking in EU & Competition, following the hire of partner Joanne Finn in September 2019, which expanded the breadth of services available to clients.  Joanne is also named as a Leading Individual in the guide and Elaine Davis is recognised as a Rising Star.

The Dublin teams has also maintained its position in the ranking tables in seven further areas:

  • Dispute Resolution (Band 2; Lisa Broderick named as Leading Individual)
  • Employment (Band 3)
  • Healthcare & Life Sciences (Band 2)
  • Information Technology (Band 3)
  • Data Privacy & Data Protection (Band 2; Rowena McCormack named as Next Generation Partner)
  • Insurance (Band 2; Noreen Howard named as a Leading Individual)
  • Public Sector (Band 2; Aidan Healy named as a Rising Star)

Gustavo Blanco, DAC Beachcroft’s International Development Director, said, “We are continuing to invest in strengthening our capabilities across our global locations for the benefit of our clients. We are pleased to see that this is being recognised by The Legal 500 and we are grateful to our clients for the support they have given us in securing these latest rankings.”

DACB’s strong set of results in The Legal 500 follows the publication of Chambers & Partners Europe 2021 Guide last month, in which DACB achieved five rankings.

The firm’s European network - Dublin, Madrid and Paris - is complemented by its UK presence in eleven locations and five other offices globally.
