    Rachel Gibson is a construction and engineering law specialist and has acted for authorities, funders and contractors across a variety of different sectors including waste, transport, education and blue-light. 

    Rachel has experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on the key standard form construction and engineering contracts including JCT, NEC3, MF/1, FIDIC and LOGIC.  She also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating bespoke contracts for complex projects.

    Highlights of Rachel's recent experience include:

    • Acting for a national housebuilder on a variety of housing projects providing advice on development contracts, sub-contracts and professional team appointments.
    • Acting for contractors in relation to the development of anaerobic digestion plants, producing gas and electricity. Rachel is the lead adviser on these projects and is responsible for drafting and negotiating amendments to the main contact with the purchaser. Rachel also undertakes responsibility for drafting and agreeing subcontracts with the plant providers and interface agreements between the contactor and the operator where required.
    • Advising a local transport organisation in relation to its asset renewal programme and the numerous construction contracts that it enters into. She also provides advice in relation to ongoing contracts, in particular on the validity of compensation events and other contractual claims.
