Cassandra is our National Head for Casualty Injury work and has oversight of one of the leading defendant Employers’ and Public Liability teams in the UK.

The team, made up of over 120 lawyers including 25 Partners across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, deal predominantly with litigated claims with values ranging from small claims track all the way to the most serious and catastrophic injury claims.

She has over 12 years’ management experience and over 18 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including retail and leisure, construction, health and social care, transport and logistics and manufacturing. Her key clients include well-known businesses ranging from high street retailers to multi-million pound construction companies.

    Relevant experience includes:

    • Alongside client responsibilities as Head of Casualty Injury, Cassandra is highly regarded for providing strategic direction and positive leadership while ensuring that client needs are always met. She has a proven track record in leading improvement initiatives and applying solid technical and analytical abilities which have led to client savings.
    • Working with a well-known bakery company in relation to their use of 'bread poles' to move stacks of bread which had resulted in a large number of claims being pursued. As a result of working with the client to put forward our best defence, we were able to defend these claims and any future claims which may be pursued. Importantly, by taking a strategic litigation approach, we were able to avoid the need for the client to make multi-million pound changes to their business, which may have been the case had they faced an adverse finding.
    • Handling strategic litigation in relation to hot oil splash cases as a result of using deep fat fryers for a well-known fast-food company, which had they lost, would have resulted in a multi-million pound change to their business across the UK.
    • Developing relationships with various corporate clients to ensure that we provide an excellent quality service and to streamline the litigation process for those clients and their insurers.
    • Cassandra regularly advises clients in relation to changes within the Employers’ and Public Liability market, evidencing such changes through the use of management information data, MI analysis and know your opponent strategies.

In addition, Cassandra regularly publishes articles relating to topical matters affecting Employers’ and Public Liability.
