  • Biography

    Ciaran Claffey specialises in defending clinical negligence claims.

    He has over 10 years’ experience in the clinical negligence field, including more than five years acting for NHS Trusts and NHS Resolution.

    He frequently acts in cases involving catastrophic injury, such as cerebral palsy claims and claims involving injury to the brain and spinal cord. He also has extensive experience in claims involving the deaths of patients.

    Ciaran has lectured on clinical risk issues and is a frequent contributor of articles to DAC Beachcroft’s Collections.

    Recent experience includes:

    • Securing a discontinuance in a brain injury claim valued in excess of £3 million.
    • Securing a discontinuance in a cauda equina claim valued in excess of £1 million.
    • Settling cerebral palsy claims valued at £14 million and £15 million.
