Biography
Nick Young leads the firm's Property Insurance service line.
He specialises in property, energy, construction and engineering claims, including recoveries and policy coverage, as well as South American insurance/reinsurance disputes and fraudulent claims, notably arson.
Also, Nick specialises in advising insurers and their insureds on crisis management issues following major losses, examples including the Albright and Wilson chemical explosion, Hatfield and Potters Bar train crashes, Buncefield, the Gibraltar Port explosion, the fire at Tilbury Power Station and most recently, the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower on 14 June 2017.
Nick is also a committee member of the Arson Control Forum, a multi-agency organisation, originally established by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to achieve a sustained reduction in the number of deliberate fires and related deaths, injuries and property damage.
He was sponsored by the Arson Prevention Bureau and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to attend "Arson for Prosecutors", an intensive training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Centre in the USA where he was appointed as a visiting professor.
He lectures widely on a range of UK and International insurance issues.
