    Tom is the Head of Property for DAC Beachcroft and leads a national client team for the largest property and casualty insurer in the world. Based in our London office, he provides advice on complex claims encompassing, amongst other things, major losses and issues of reputational concern to the client. 

    Tom has over 20 years’ experience advising on complex policy indemnity issues including fraud, construction related matters, engineering, product liability and high value property damage claims, including fire and flood, as well as acting in subrogated actions.  Of note, he acted for a large composite insurer and their customer in the Supreme Court matter of R & S Pilling t/a Phoenix Engineering (Respondent) v UK Insurance Ltd (Appellant) [2019] UKSC 16.

    Tom has considerable experience of fraudulent claims, principally first party fire and flood, and the attendant issues, including the interplay with the Police/CPS and reputational considerations for insurers. He led the successful Defendant team in the reported case of Genesisuk.net Ltd v Allianz Insurance Ltd [2014] EWHC 3676 (QB).
