Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has today announced the appointment of partners Giles Tagg and Simon Mathews, strengthening the firm's construction disputes offering within its Global Insurance practice.

Giles and Simon, both highly regarded practitioners in the national insurance and construction market, join DACB from the construction and insurance specialist law firm, Beale & Co. There, Giles was the lead construction litigator in its Bristol office, working with Simon on some of the most complex and high value claims against construction professionals and companies.

The appointments are bolstered by a wider construction litigation team joining DACB from Beale & Co. The top tier team includes associate Alessandro Morgan-Gianni, who started at the firm in August, along with another two colleagues who are set to join DACB in the Autumn.

Ben Daniels, Bristol Location Head at DACB, comments, "These highly significant appointments are part of our ambitious plans to grow our construction disputes practice, as we continue to strengthen key service lines and build on our position as the global insurance industry’s legal advisor of choice. Both Giles and Simon are well known and respected in the local and national market. They will combine with existing partners Phill Roberts and Nick Hillyard to create a substantial offering in Bristol for insurers and construction professionals."

Giles added, "DAC Beachcroft's full service offering, coupled with the depth of its national and international insurance practice, will considerably enhance the support we can offer to both insurer and construction industry clients when disputes arise.”

Simon comments, “I am very much looking forward to working with existing and new colleagues at DAC Beachcroft to continue to build a top tier construction disputes practice to meet the current and future needs of our clients.”

DACB has one of the largest insurance practices of any law firm in the UK. The firm operates from eleven UK locations, and further extends its reach through international offices in Argentina, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, the United States, Singapore, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and, together with BLD, Germany.
