Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has retained its position as one of the leading LatAm insurance law firms, with a set of strong results in the recently published 2023 Chambers Guide to Latin America.

The firm has retained all of its existing rankings, including its top-tier Band 1 ranking for Insurance: International Counsel, for its ability to handle high-level cross-border mandates involving Latin America. The firm has also maintained its Band 2 status for Insurance in Chile and Colombia, and retained its Band 3 status, also for Insurance, in Mexico.

Partners Andrés Amunátegui (Chile) and Anthony Menzies (London) have retained their Band 2 rankings in Insurance, along with Senior Consultant Camila de la Torre (Colombia), who has also secured an individual Band 1 ranking for the first time in Dispute Resolution, where she is named one of the ‘Most In Demand Arbitrators’. Duncan Strachan (London) and Mark Kendall (London) are ranked in Band 3 in Insurance, and Miguel Ángel de la Fuente Estrada (Mexico) is ranked in Band 4, also in Insurance. Juan Diego Arango (Colombia) has also secured an individual ranking as an ‘Up and Coming’ lawyer.

In the feedback given to Chambers, clients commented: “DAC Beachcroft's level of service is the best in class. They respond promptly providing client-oriented solutions." Furthermore, "I have full confidence that DAC Beachcroft has the technical ability to take on and handle any type of new case."

Andrés Amunátegui, Partner and Head of LatAm at DACB, said, “We are delighted that the latest set of Chambers rankings once again recognises the collective efforts of the talented lawyers within DACB’s LatAm team. They are also testament to our continued growth in the region as we continue to make considered investment based on the growing needs of our clients.”

This year’s strong performance in Chambers follows another year of international growth at DACB. The firm continues to make strategic hires to expand its global offering, including most recently the appointment of Chile’s most respected insurance professionals, Macarena Cámbara, as a partner in DACB’s Global Insurance practice in Santiago.

Earlier this year, the firm also signed a cooperation agreement to expand its relationship with Legalign Global partner BLD Bach Langheid Dallmayr, the market-leading insurance and liability law firm in Germany to provide a seamless European proposition for clients.
