Practitioners will be aware that the Long Vacation commences on Friday 30 July 2021. The new court term will resume on 4 October 2021.
By way of reminder, SI 471 of 2016, amended Order 122 (Time) and changed the running of time during the Long Vacation.
While formerly, time was deemed not to run during the Long Vacation and High Court pleadings could not be served during the Long Vacation without the consent of the Court, the current position is that a party may deliver or amend a pleading during the Long Vacation and only the month of August is excluded from the computation of time in relation to the amending or delivery of a pleading.
