Graduate opportunities
Our early career paralegals and trainee solicitors work with prestigious clients and receive excellent training and development but that’s not all that sets us apart. What makes us so different is our culture. We’re supportive, friendly and genuinely inclusive. Our leadership team sets the tone by being open and available, and are keen to listen and learn from colleagues directly, with the help of our colleague networks. Put simply, we go above and beyond to ensure our early career graduates have a fulfilling and rewarding experience with us.
Paralegal
As an early career paralegal, you can join our firm straight from university, we look for relevant transferrable skills/experience if you don’t have any specific legal work experience. It makes this a brilliant opportunity for you to take your first step onto the legal career ladder – not least because your role will often involve working closely with a solicitor or associate on complex and challenging cases. You’ll attend client meetings and get involved in everything from research to document drafting, all of which will give you an excellent grounding if you decide you want to progress in the firm. As well as a degree, you’ll need to bring excellent attention to detail and great team working skills.
As a paralegal you will be based in one area of the business where you will have the opportunity to build strong foundations for your legal career. As well as having the opportunity to engage with our comprehensive early careers development programme, you can also apply for professional funding to undertake qualifications such as CILEx.
Trainee Solicitor
Join us as a trainee solicitor, and you’ll have the opportunity to experience the business and gain a breadth of knowledge in cross-practice areas through a series of placements. In addition to developing your legal knowledge and practice, our trainee development programme incorporates the skills the lawyer of tomorrow will need. This includes legal project management, commercial skills, data analytics, and client relationship management including sales and pitch training – all underpinned with a focus on creativity and innovation.
We run workshops, mentoring and work experience to encourage a diverse range of student applications through our partnerships with Aspiring Solicitors and the Social Mobility Foundation (SMF). Ten percent of our trainee solicitor assessment centre places are earmarked through our springboard scheme for applicants from less advantaged backgrounds.
