He has over 20 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including telecommunications and retail, health, local government and law enforcement. His key clients include a national food retailer, a telecommunications plc, many NHS trusts and foundation trusts, local authorities and police forces.

Guy specialises in strategic employment matters such as major organisational change, board level disputes, industrial action and complex litigation. He has extensive experience of equal pay litigation and is the national lead for the firm in this area.

Relevant experience includes:

• Defending an NHS foundation trust against a multiple (1,600 claimant) equal pay claim over 13 years. Over 95% of the claims were withdrawn or struck out and the remainder were settled on modest terms.
• Acting for three police forces in a high-profile and complex whistleblowing claim brought by an officer including wide-ranging allegations against senior officers. Following difficult negotiations the claim was settled before the hearing.
• Advising on the strategy and negotiations leading to executive departures in a number of NHS trusts, foundation trusts and national NHS bodies.
