Technology Advisory

Our expertise enables organisations to navigate the trends in digital transformation and drive growth. We offer day-to- day pragmatic advice on the issues which affect both suppliers and buyers of technology on a practical level, enabling our clients to get to the nub of key issues.

Overview

We act for a number of industry-leading software vendors, supporting them on all manner of technology-related matters, including with their IT agreements and advising on technology focussed regulations. We also act for various corporates, procuring IT solutions. Our work is often international in nature, and we act for various US, European and Asia Pacific-based suppliers across the health, insurance, real estate, and financial services sectors in particular.

Our significant expertise in acting for suppliers and customers of technology solutions, coupled with our deep sector knowledge, enables us to provide pragmatic and robust solutions to complex legal issues. Whether this is drafting a legal agreement, advising on intellectual property issues, resolving IT disputes or advising on regulatory issues, we cover the full range of legal requirements pertaining to technology.

We regularly draft and advise on all manner of technology contracts, ranging from agreements for Software as a Service, software development, and systems implementation projects through to transferring ownership of intellectual property rights in software, and website and app user terms.

Our experience acting for suppliers and customers enables us to understand and anticipate what are likely to be areas of contention, and to cut through the fog, to advise and negotiate on the key legal issues.

In terms of regulations regarding technology, we have a leading data privacy and cyber team, and expertise in advising on not only data protection law, but also emerging regulations such as the draft EU AI Act, Online Safety Bill, NIS Directive and other EU laws including the draft Digital Safety Act and Digital Markets Act.
