Ian has been the Location Head for the Manchester Office of DACB since 2013. He specialises in handling professional indemnity claims on behalf of a wide range of professionals. 

He has over 28 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including Professional Negligence, Directors & Officers claims, Policy Wording, Property Damage, Product Liability and Personal Injury. His key clients include Travelers Insurance Company, QBE European Operations, Chubb Insurance Company, Zurich Insurance Company and a large media organisation.

Ian is a Solicitor Advocate (Higher Courts Civil) and also has considerable mediation experience.

Relevant experience includes:

• Acting for a solicitor’s firm in relation to multiple claims arising out of alleged fraudulent activity by a former employee. This involved dealing with numerous litigants, regulators, the police and media interest. Our involvement minimised the claims exposure and publicity risks.
• Advising director's and officer's liabilities, including claims against clubs and societies.
• Advising construction claims including Health and Safety prosecutions and claims against construction professionals.
• Advising claims against surveyors and estate agents.
• Advising claims against accountants and insurance brokers.
• Advising a substantial number of claims against solicitors in all aspects of legal work.
• Advising claims against PR and media consultants.
• Acting for a media organisation in respect claims arising from injury, health and safety and property damage.
