Rachel spent eight years at another leading aviation practice, initially becoming a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives before qualifying as a Solicitor.  

Rachel has experience advising clients across a range of contentious and non-contentious areas including liability for personal injury and fatal accidents, accident investigation, arbitration, mediation, regulatory advice, and managing high volume claims such as those arising under EU Regulation 261. Many of the matters on which she advises involve an international element.

• Advising a helicopter manufacturer in relation to a high-profile fatal accident case. 

• Acted for Insurers and Associated Co-Insurers of the All Risks Policy in a sanctions related aircraft coverage dispute.  

• Representing the insured clients in a high-profile High Court litigation and ultimately the negotiation of a multi-party settlement agreement, relating to a fatal air accident involving a Pioneer 400.

• Providing regulatory advice to a major middle eastern airline relating to its global regulatory compliance requirements, including liaising with a large number of foreign local counsel, relating to the provision of package holidays to UK consumers, and consumers in dozens of foreign jurisdictions. 

• Assisting a major airline in relation unauthorised importation of live cargo into the UK.

• Advising Insurers in relation to fatal and non-fatal kite surfing accidents in France 

• Advising Insurers in relation to two non-fatal accidents in Greece.

• Assisting a major tour operator in relation to its booking conditions and claims arising from COVID-19 cancellations and restrictions. 

• Advising a number of airline clients in relation to liability under EC Regulation 261, handling hundreds of claims a year.

• Advising a Middle Eastern Airline in relation to a damages claim.
