Tim advises on high value and complex disputes including contractual claims, fraud, shareholder and M&A related claims, insolvency, restrictive covenants, issues relating to senior leavers, technology, and distressed projects. Tim acts for clients operating in a broad range of sectors, including aerospace, energy, engineering, food and drink, health, information and communication technology, insurance, insolvency, retail, and sport.

He specialises in complex litigation and in relation to urgent injunctive relief (including freezing orders, search orders and misuse of confidential information and breaches of covenant).

In addition to work on larger and more complex disputes, Tim's team support in-house counsel in managing their caseloads and in providing practical and responsive support in relation to a range of disputes and complaints, along with dispute avoidance and across all forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Having trained and worked at two leading disputes practices and benefited from client secondments, Tim joined DAC Beachcroft in early 2020 to lead the firm's commercial disputes practice in Leeds.

Recent experience includes:

• Acting for a leading insurance broker in responding to and securing injunctive relief to restrain an unlawful team move and misuse of confidential information
• Representing a leading shopping centre owner in High Court proceedings arising from a wrongful contractual termination
• Advising on a number of critical and high value distressed IT outsourcing contracts, both for suppliers and customers
• Advising a major supermarket on a range of significant and high value commercial and contractual claims
• Acting for a top premier league football claim across a range of contractual and commercial issues
• Advising on High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings following an unfair prejudice petition
• Acting for an engineering company in relation to multi-million-pound litigation and connected international arbitration arising from claims of breach of contract and negligence
• Acting as a court-appointed independent supervising solicitor in relation to the enforcement of an urgent provisional liquidation order
