Overview

DAC Beachcroft’s Construction and Engineering team is advising the developer on the design and construction of Camp Hill Gardens, a new next generation build to rent development in inner-city Birmingham.

The development, which is the second project from specialist real estate investment manager Goodstone Living and backed by global asset manager Macquarie Asset Management, is the largest modular build-to-rent residential development in the UK to date.

Once completed, the development will consist of 550 build to rent homes across six buildings, including a 26-storey landmark tower. Shared amenity space will include co-working space, a creche, a fitness centre and hard and soft landscaping – including one of the largest private gardens in central Birmingham - to offer its residents a vibrant community.

The site, located in Birmingham's thriving creative quarter of Digbeth, will offer residents excellent connectivity to the city and the wider country through its close proximity to Birmingham's new HS2 station and local transport links.

The building contract has been awarded to Elements Europe, a specialist modular contractor.

The team at DACB worked closely with Goodstone Living's construction and legal teams and the external project manager (Cast Consultancy) as part of a fully integrated project team.

In addition to advising on the building contract entered into with Elements Europe, DACB advised on the contract for the demolition works of the existing structures on site and the consultant appointments for the new build scheme. DACB also provided construction legal support on the financing element of the transaction.
