Overview

DAC Beachcroft’s Commercial Technology team has successfully advised Maximo Group on a multi-year, multi-million pound outsourcing of technology and logistics services pertaining to its online presence for perfume and beauty products.

The project involves a ‘re-platform’ of the existing web infrastructure for the allbeauty.com and fragrancedirect.co.uk sites, as well as ongoing hosting, warehousing and other logistics services.

The DACB team, led by partner Tim Ryan and senior associate Alistair Cooper, worked alongside Maximo’s senior leadership team to complete the transaction under significant time pressure. The deal is a validation of the team’s ongoing commitment to supporting and guiding clients across sectors as they execute their digital transformation plans.

Tim Ryan, partner and Head of Commercial & Technology at DACB, said, “Working with the Maximo team was an absolute pleasure. It is always rewarding to advise high-quality scaling businesses and a privilege to work with high-quality colleagues in the DACB team”.

Ian Smith, CEO at Maximo, commented, “The work concluded was done in a diligent and consultative manner which made for an expedited process. There is nothing more frustrating than legal teams wishing to score points and this engagement was a million miles from that – the DACB team was brilliant and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them”.

DACB’s Commercial Technology team is one of the largest in the UK, with 40 lawyers advising clients across all sectors and all types of commercial and technology issues. The team includes IT, regulatory, intellectual property and data protection experts who regularly advise on issues ranging from day-to-day contractual matters to complex digital transformation projects.
