Political Risk, Trade Credit and Political Violence

Our global team is able to assess the impact of the full spectrum of political risk, trade credit, and political violence and manage your response to complex and sensitive events worldwide. We work on global and cross-border issues, advising on coverage, disputes, and recoveries.

Overview

We have extensive experience of advising in adjustments and disputed claims across CEND (Confiscation, Expropriation, Nationalisation, and Deprivation) cover. We also advise regularly on contract frustration, non-honouring, forced abandonment, and selective discrimination.

Our team has successfully represented insurers across the full range of trade credit products, including single situation/ buyer, structured trade credit, whole turnover, and excess of loss policies.

We have advised insurers in relation to policies covering investment and/or trade across the globe, combining global expertise with local presence and insight. Our broad international reach reflects the global and dynamic nature of terrorism and political violence and means we can advise on claims, policy wordings, and reinsurance contracts in this space.

Alleged losses falling to political risk, trade credit, and political violence policies are rarely straightforward. Our team's experience of claims, wordings, and recoveries in these markets mean that we can identify the issues and provide quick and effective advice.
