Claudia specialises in defending third party casualty liability claims on behalf of corporate entities and public authorities.

She has over 8 years’ experience advising corporate and public clients in the private sector, public sector and third sector. Claudia has a strong understanding of the London Market having undertaken lengthy secondments in the claims teams at two insurers.

Claudia has diverse technical ability and deals with a range of instructions including occupiers’ liability; employers’ liability; and public liability ranging from low value to catastrophic injury levels.

Relevant experience includes:

• Advising a housing association on a third party public liability claim where Claimant sustained significant orthopaedic injuries. The claim was successfully compromised before trial.
• Defending a prominent London open space in a third party public liability claim where breach of duty under the Occupier’s Liability Act 1954 was alleged. The claim was dismissed at trial and an adverse finding avoided, which would have had significant financial repercussions for our client.
• Advising a large public authority on a third party employer liability claim where the insured’s manual handling operations were under scrutiny. A favourable compromise was reached before trial.
