Ilana is a (re)insurance coverage and defence lawyer in our London office and specialises in domestic and international Property, Construction All Risks, Downstream Energy, Public and Product Liability claims. Ilana has experience in claims in France, Israel, West Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean in addition to the UK.

Relevant experience includes advising on highly technical claims involving:

• damage/defects issues in construction claims;
• large hydropower losses;
• large fires;
• oil refinery losses;
• and more recently she has been heavily involved in the FCA Business Interruption Test Case, ultimately resulting in the Supreme Court decision in January 2021.

Ilana has been recognised as a Next Generation Lawyer in the Legal 500 for insurance and reinsurance. She also provides training and contributes to various trade press and periodicals including the BIBA Business Interruption Guide. Ilana speaks French fluently and is significantly involved in DAC Beachcroft’s Israel Desk.
