Robert specialises in commercial real estate law with a particular focus on asset management matters. He regularly undertakes property management work and lettings of shopping centres together with disposals.

He has over 20 years’ experience advising clients in the commercial real estate sector. He has acted for landlords, tenants and funders and has undertaken a wide range of property and leasing transactions. His key clients include landlords of large shopping centres. He has advised on lettings and management matters as well as on larger scale projects and has also undertaken strategic projects for clients and run due diligence exercises for major property refinances and disposals.

Robert’s experience in advising commercial real estate sector clients means that he has a genuine understanding of their commercial requirements to maximise the value of their assets and his commercial advice is provided in that context.

Recent experience includes:

• Leading on a major multimillion pound asset refinancing due diligence exercise, running a team to conclude the transaction in a short timeframe.
• Leading on a large centre refinancing exercise and co-ordinating property aspects with another firm on corporate aspects.
• Completing a disposal of a building on a long lease at a substantial premium, to a purchaser whose proposed use gave rise to potential issues with adjoining occupiers. Bespoke advice was provided which satisfied the client’s concerns and the requirements of the purchaser and its funders.
